Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. Her birth date was August 5th 1956 in Woodland Hills California. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as an housewife, and her father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. McCormick started singing and performing from a young age. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she took home her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6. This led to a call from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she would like to be in show business. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her debut major performance in 1964 on a tv commercial for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show The Wind It up and It Breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, who was selected from over 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the third of three head-to-head daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five years. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick revealed how during the 5th season of the show she almost lost the love of her life to her twin brother Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was 16. She said that it would have been feasible, but it was never the best moment to make the decision.
